  • Age Concern Christchurch operates two 16-seater minibuses that are used to take people to the various Friendship Centres (previously known as Pop-In Clubs) that we operate around the borough, shopping trips to Sainsbury's and Tesco, and for day trips to local attractions such as the Kingston Lacy Snowdrop days.

  • The Bride Valley Dial a Bus is a community door to door bus which operates in the Bride Valley area to Bridport area on Wednesdays. This service offers a wheelchair accessible bus and trained staff to collect passengers from their front door and transport them to Bridport town centre on Wednesday each week and return them home.

  • Brotherwood Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles offer comfort, inclusivity and safety to wheelchair users.

  • We use the School Buses in their downtime during the school day twice a month from 9.30am to 2pm. The buses can carry 16 passengers including folded wheelchairs or if the wheelchair user is seated in the chair, two seats can be removed to accommodate. We can also take rollators too, giving passengers a lot more scope to travel than with standard public transport.

  • The Dial-A-Bus service is open to anyone of any age who finds it difficult to use public transport or is disabled and lives within the BH23 postcode. A specially adapted bus and trained staff collect you from your door for shopping trips and excursions.

  • The Weymouth, Portland and Dorchester Dial-a-Bus services have been set up to provide wheelchair accessible transport for elderly and disabled people who find it difficult to use existing transport services. There are two schemes available which serve Dorchester, Portland and Weymouth.

  • Patient transport services supports those people registered with a GP practice in Dorset who need assistance when attending a pre-booked appointment with a clinic or hospital. The Dorset PTB will ensure that you are taken to your appointment by the appropriate means of transport suitable to your medical condition using vehicles tailored to your needs.

We help you get back your independence, enabling you to get out and about and enjoy everyday living. Our dedicated drivers will also help you in and out of the car, going to appointments, shopping and accompany you on outings.

  • Neighbour Cars are an independent group of local residents who have come together to offer help to people in our community over 55 who would appreciate a little assistance with transport when attending doctor's appointments, hospital appointments, going to church, shopping, and visiting friends.

  • SEDCAT has two fully accessible mini buses which operate within the Bournemouth Borough postcode areas BH1 - BH11. This is a door to door morning shopping service to help the elderly, and those not able to use public transport, access local services.

Volunteer drivers, using their own cars, offer a door to door service for members to help them access much needed services.
